The rally follows weeks of protests by the Sunnis hoping that through their protests and sit-ins that have swept across Sunni provinces and Baghdad's Sunni neighbourhoods they can abolish the political structure forged by the US occupation authority, allowing them to negotiate a more equitable governing system.
