Restrictions were lifted on the movement of people and vehicular traffic around Charminar, where a mob indulged in stone pelting and trouble broke out after the noon prayers following the controversy over the newly erected structure near the Bhagyalaxmi temple. Muslims, supported by the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) party, opposed the move fearing that the temporary structure would pave the way for the permanent construction of a larger temple near the Charminar monument.
