JANUARY 26, 2013: U.S. Gun control supporters gather at the Washington Monument after marching from the U.S. Capitol in support of stricter gun laws. The event, which is named March on Washington for Gun Control, unites concerned parents, pastors, actors, gun-violence survivors, law enforcement officers, elected officials and others who all seek common-sense protections against senseless gun violence. The demonstrators are joined by Newtown residents, the District of Columbia's Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Mayor Vincent Gray, and Councilmembers David Grosso, Kenyan McDuffie and Tommy Wells who lead the March carrying a banner that reads 'When we stand together, we stand a chance.'(Photo by ASTRID RIECKEN For The Washington Post via Getty Images)
