(Original Caption) Five time Kentucky Derby winner Eddie Arcaro is reportedly doing "extremely well" on November 12th at Miami's Heart Institute where he is recovering from surgery to repair a blocked coronary artery. The 54 year old retired jockey underwent surgery on November 10th. In this 1948 photo, Arcaro is shown on "Citation" at Belmont, (June 12), after winning horse racing's triple crown.
