Megastore music and book unit, which is known in France as a 'culture' retailer, said two weeks ago it will file for insolvency. Originally started by Richard Branson, the British billionaire and chairman of the Virgin Group, the Virgin megastores were bought by the French Lagardere group in 2001 before French-American businessman Walter Butler became the majority shareholder. Butler announced on January 20, 2013, its failure to relaunch the stores. The banner reads : 'We will not pay for their crise'.
