A Look At Federal Response To Hurricane Sandy
Caption: BROOKLYN, NY - NOVEMBER 13: Donna Zurlo, cries on the porch of her beachfront home that is without power, water and has incurred heavy damage in community of Seagate in Brooklyn, NY on November 13, 2012. The swimming pool is now in the living room and cement deck facing the water is about all that's left standing in the yard. Seagate, a beachside community along the lower shoreline of Brooklyn still suffers from power outages from Hurricane Sandy. The city has brought in some lighting to an otherwise dark neighborhood. Zurlo's friend who owns the house, has been under such duress from the hurricane damaged that his family is handling his affairs. A claim with FEMA was filed by the his family for damages with Zurlo's name on it and she hopes she can recover some of her belongings which were lost. 'I've lost everything, I'm only 53, and I don't even have a claim number.' She's lived in this house with her friend for over 20 years.
