DMK Withdrew Support From UPA II

NEW DELHI, INDIA - MARCH 19: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi at Parliament house during the on going budget session in New Delhi on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, as DMK withdrew its support to the UPA and pulled out its five central ministers over the issue of alleged human rights violations of Tamils in Sri Lanka. The DMK has 18 Lok Sabha MPs and six Rajya Sabha MPs and was the second largest constituent of the Government. With the DMK pullout, the strength of the UPA in the Lok Sabha will be reduced to 224 but with outside support of SP (22) and BSP (21) it enjoyed the support of 281 MPs above the half way mark of 270.
