The European Commission has selected two science projects, one to develop graphene, a material of the future, the other to fully model the human brain on computer laureates that could enable them to get everyone up to one billion euros over 10 years.The Human Brain Project, led by Professor Henry Markram at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland) and the Graphene project, led by Jari Kinaret, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, were chosen from among 21 projects receive this award.
