China made their winter Olympics debut at Lake Placid in 1990 but didn't win its first medals until Albertville in 1992 with two silvers in speed skating. Speed skating has since been China's strongest winter sport accounting for 25, or almost 80 percent of China's winter Olympic medals, including the nine won in Torino in 2006. AFP PHOTO/Frederic J.
