Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, the Brazilian icon who revolutionized modern architecture and designed much of the country's futuristic capital Brasilia, died in Rio Wednesday at 104 and the President Rousseff said in a statement that 'It's a day to mourn his death. It's day to hail his life.' The architect's body is to be flown to Brasilia today for a funeral wake at the presidential palace, one of his major works.
