Bray Sur Somme, France - May 21 - Australians battled all around the area of Bray Sur Somme in 1918. An Australian soldier, pte. W. Phillips had been buried below a grave with another man’s name for 90 years until his great nephew solved the mystery. He is now correctly identified as being buried beside his buddy, Pte Collins in Bray Vale British Cemetery. Walking the Western Front. Close to half a million Canadians served overseas in the First World War mostly in the battle lines of the Western Front through Belgium and northern France. May 19, 2014
