A Los Angeles Superior Court judge refused to halt operations of Sriracha's chili sauce plant in Irwindale, California, due to complaints from neighbors about the sting in the air when the peppers are mashed. A November 22 hearing has been scheduled on whether to issue a preliminary injunction after the city of Irwindale sued the sauce-maker Huy Fong Foods Inc., on October 28 claiming it a public nuisance.
