Baktasch Spartak prepares to fly an Afghan fighter kite which he built with other participants at the first Afghan surf championship organized by the Wave Riders Association of Afghanistan (WRAA) in Ericeira on May 22, 2015.
The WRAA is hosting this championship from May 22 to 25 and aims to develop an organization that represents and supports the young Afghan surf culture. The championship counts eight men and four women from Afghanistan, as well as friends and family members whom are invited to present their culture through cooking classes and musical workshops.
