Real life success stories

I feel like an explorer for whom the world is something entirely new

Featured artist

Name: Mohammad Moniruzzaman
Lives: Narayanganj
Works: Lecturer of microbiology

I took this photo in Narayanganj one afternoon while on holiday. I was just out with the camera, exploring when I came across these four kids playing in a mustard field. They were running around and, me with my camera, was a great source of fun to them.

They couldn't stop laughing about being photographed. I think that's the reason the picture has such impact; and that the bright yellow of the field goes so well with the children bursting into laughter.

As an amateur photographer, I enjoy being free of the competition that photographers face. I don't even have to travel far to get the kind of shots.

When I go to a new place, I usually strike up conversation with the people I'd like to photograph. I'm good at making people feel easy around me, it helps me capture their lives and the way they live in as natural a way as possible.

I was selected for the Flickr collection on Getty Images some time ago. To me, it's opened a door of possibilities for my work to be featured in the international media. And, it feels good to be paid for what I love to do!

Q: Can anybody submit images?

A: Yes.

Q: What kind of images are you looking for?

A: We post regular tweets describing the kind of images we're after. Check out twitter: @GettyImagesWant

Q: Are there any types of images you can't accept?

A: We don’t accept images of any recognizable people or private property unless proper releases are available for commercial use. So we can’t accept images of celebrities, sports teams, products etc. “Street shots” or any images with people where you can’t provide a release also won’t work. For all images, you need to be the original producer and copyright holder of anything you submit.”

Q: How will I know if my images have been accepted?

A: We'll email you. If we accept your images we'll send you a note via Flickr explaining next steps. If we don't, we'll also tell you by email.

Q: Who can I talk to about my submission?

A: Unfortunately, due to the volume of work, we don't have a way to offer individual feedback. However, if your images are accepted, please join the Flickr forum to chat with fellow Flickrites.

Q: Once I'm in, is there any help to market my images?

A: Yes. We have a whole toolkit available. Plus, we regularly feature artists. To find out how to get featured, email agencyzone@gettyimages.com
